Get answers to common questions about colon hydrotherapy, what to expect, and how to prepare for your session.
What is colon hydrotherapy (or a colonic)?
Colon Hydrotherapy is a safe effective method of removing waste from the large intestine. It is a gentle procedure that uses warm, purified water to assist in the elimination of toxins. In simple terms, colon hydrotherapy is simply an infusion of water into the colon to help remove accumulated waste material.
Why are colonics necessary?
Colonics are necessary due to the fact that the Standard American Diet (SAD) is primarily made up of processed food. Our food is sticky, full of sugar & without fiber. The SAD diet promotes constipation & diseases of the colon. Our ancestors ate whole foods full of fiber & had healthy colons!
How many bowel movements should I have per day?
A healthy colon should evacuate after every meal.
I am a fitness trainer & am in great shape, do I need Colonics?
A large portion of our clients compete professionally in body building & other professional sports. They have noticed that when their colon is empty, they have more core strength & flexibility!
How will I feel after a colonic?
This varies from person to person depending on your diet & body history. Most of our clients report feeling lighter & have significantly more energy!
Is the Colon Hydrotherapy procedure dangerous?
No. In fact, it is a very gentle procedure done by well trained colon therapists. We use purified water at body temperature to soak the colon and loosen hard impacted fecal matter.
How many treatments do I need?
Everyone is different. That being said our standard recommendation is usually one a day for two days. The first colonic soaks the colon, loosening the hard material that has been packed in there over time. The second colonic serves to help the material flow out of the colon. With your colon being soaked the day prior, it is now soft enough to evacuate.
How long will my appointment be?
First, we’ll schedule a phone screening. Our team will ask if you’ve had any surgeries, particularly cesarean sections or surgeries to the colon, heart, or kidneys.
We’ll also ask if you’re currently on any medications or drugs. Next, we’ll help you book an appointment over the phone, working with you to find a time that’s convenient.
What should I expect at the appointment?
Once you’re in the room, your therapist will hand you a gown to change into and ask you to take everything off from the waist down. Feel free to wear comfy clothes and a sweater if you tend to get cold.
Then, we’ll perform the 40-minute procedure (the full appointment is approximately one hour), explaining what a colonic is and how it works. Your therapist will be present the entire time. At the end, we’ll advise you on when to schedule your next appointment. (Typically, we suggest patients get anywhere from three to five sessions within the first week for the best results.) Feel free to ask any questions you might have along the way.
Is it normal to feel bloated after the colonic?

Is it normal to feel bloated after the colonic?
Yes. It is totally normal to feel bloated after your first session. Besides the water that we are putting in, remember that you still have a lot of old waste that needs to come out, which is why we recommend a few sessions.
